Privacy Policy

GiftWrapd (“we,” “us”) offers a website for gift inspiration and a mobile app that is a private, offline family gift journal. This policy explains how information is handled for each.

1. Two products, two approaches

GiftWrapd App. The app is designed to keep your gift journal on your device. We do not require an account to use the journal. We do not sell your gift history, and the core product does not depend on cloud sync or advertising inside the journal.

getgiftwrapd.com. The website publishes guides, tools, and articles. Like most websites, it may process limited technical data needed to operate and secure the site (for example, standard server logs). We do not currently use website advertising or analytics trackers.

2. Information the mobile app stores

When you use the GiftWrapd app, information you enter is stored locally on your device (on-device database and files). That may include:

• People and families (names, dates, notes, preferences you add — including information about children you choose to record)
• Gift ideas, purchases, and given gifts; budgets; occasions; traditions; and optional Premium story/memory fields
• Photos you attach to people or gifts
• App settings (for example, reminder preferences and optional app lock)

• We do not operate a GiftWrapd cloud account that hosts your journal by default.
• Photo library. If you attach a photo, the app requests photo-library permission to let you choose an image. Those images stay with your journal on the device unless you export or share them yourself.
• Notifications. Birthday and holiday reminders use local device notifications. We do not send those reminders from GiftWrapd servers.
• App lock. Optional biometrics, device passcode, or PIN stay on your device. We do not receive your lock credentials.
• Backup & export. Files you create or share are under your control (for example, via your device’s share sheet).
• In-app purchases (Premium). Purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their terms. We receive entitlement signals needed to unlock Premium on your device — not your full payment card details. Your gift journal content is not sent to us as part of a purchase.

3. Information the website may collect

getgiftwrapd.com may process:

• Technical logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps (typical for hosting and security), as processed by our website host.
• Waitlist / email signup — if you join the launch waitlist or otherwise submit an email form, we collect the address (and any message fields) you provide. Waitlist forms are processed by Formspree on our behalf so we can receive and manage submissions. Formspree’s privacy policy also applies to that processing.
• Support email — if you email support@getgiftwrapd.com, we receive the content of that correspondence.
• Affiliate links — some guides may include retailer links. Clicking those links may allow partners to know a referral came from our site; they have their own privacy policies.

We do not currently run third-party advertising or analytics pixels on the website. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, seek consent.

4. How we use information

• To operate and secure getgiftwrapd.com and support the GiftWrapd app.
• To respond to requests you send us.
• To send the launch waitlist message you requested (and related transactional notices about that list).
• To improve content, guides, and tools on the website.
• To process Premium unlocks through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

We do not sell personal information from the app journal. We do not use your private gift history to target ads.

5. Sharing

We may share limited information with:

• Infrastructure providers that host the website.
• Formspree, for waitlist and form submissions you send through the site.
• Apple App Store / Google Play for distribution and Premium purchases.
• Professional advisors or authorities when required by law.

Content you choose to export or share from the app is shared by you, not uploaded by us to a GiftWrapd social network (there isn’t one).

6. Children’s privacy

GiftWrapd is intended for adults managing family gift planning. The app may store information about children that you enter (for example, a child’s name or birthday) as part of your private journal. That data remains on your device unless you export or share it. The website waitlist is not directed at children under 13.

7. Data retention

App journal data remains until you delete it or remove the app (subject to your own device backups). Website logs are retained only as long as needed for operations, security, or legal requirements. Waitlist emails are kept until launch messaging is complete or you ask us to remove your address, whichever applies.

8. Your choices

• Delete people, gifts, photos, or the app to remove local journal data.
• Email support@getgiftwrapd.com to remove your address from the website waitlist.
• Manage notification and photo permissions in your device system settings.
• If we later add optional website cookies or analytics controls, you may decline them where offered.

9. International visitors

If you access getgiftwrapd.com from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the U.S. or where our providers (including Formspree and our host) operate.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the website and app evolve. We will revise the “Last updated” date above.
